What made you get involved in roller derby? I had just moved to Harrisonburg and hardly knew anyone. My boyfriend at the time worked with the boyfriend of one of the original skaters, Grim Nemesis. We all hung out one day and she spoke to me about derby. I asked how the game was played (Is there like, a ball?) and she told me all about it. I showed up, gave it a go, and kept on going!
How did you pick your name? When I broke up with my very first boyfriend he started calling me McDirtbag, which is a play on my actual last name. I saw Ramsey on a license plate in West Virginia and incorporated that as well.
Favorite derby memory: June 2010: An away bout at Expoland against Charlottesville. Last second time-out called by Troch. We had one jam to catch up and win. Blockers were me, Betty Crasher, Vitamin V, and Jannacide. Jammer was Killnitzski. She made several passes and won the game. Everyone. Went. CRAZY. I have not felt the same sense of team spirit since, and I doubt I ever will. I think this was the last time we beat Charlottesville. Luckily, someone caught it on camera. Enjoy. http://youtu.be/s346T4s7crk
Derby Mantra: Haters gonna hate. Skaters gonna skate.
Likes: Surprisingly warm days in the winter. Boston, MA, The New England Patriots, traveling to new end exciting places, learning new things, the word "cunt", and craft beer.
Dislikes: Surprisingly cold days in the winter, New York, NY, The New York Yankees, Getting stuck in a rut, people who I would call a cunt, and cheap domestic American beer.
Pre bout rituals: I am the Zen Master. I stay calm, though inside I am terribly excited. I also need a hefty dose of caffeine.
Real Job: I work as a customer service representative for James Madison University's Parking Services office.
